“Your spoken voice becomes your child’s inner voice.”

This hit me hard early this morning! I reflected on the frustrated moments where I have said things like, “You’re not listening to me.” Or used blame and reactivity instead of taking responsibility for my anger because it is not my daughter’s fault that she is not ready for bed when I want her to be. Sometimes it feels so hard to offer gentleness and playfulness even though I know that’s all they need.

But hearing Jim Loehr say those words changed everything in an instant.
