Relaxing in Urgency
When you are a busy dad, everything feels like it needs to be done at lightning speed or how will it possibly all get done? However, I have noticed that when I take a moment to relax with the sensations of urgency, I still get all the tasks done! I also find it quite amazing how my choice to relax affects the entire household. Relaxation does seem to be very contagious.
One place I like to practice slowing down is at meal times. My wife and I like to remind each other to eat slowly and chew mindfully. This is a perfect opportunity to practice stillness amongst the chaos and also a great opportunity to demonstrate healthy lifestyle habits to your kids.
